Fall into this trippy dream and on through further into the old rabbit hole with these British boys and their video for single “Magnetic”, which is exactly what this song/video combo is. 

“Magnetic” comes off their upcoming 2nd album Rituals, 3 years since their debut. You can buy the song July 1st and the album will follow at the beginning of September.

Empire of the Sun | Alive

I remember working in a department store and hearing EOTS’s “Walking on a dream” for the first time and really loving it (well until the store repeatedly played it everyday multiple times for months…). The Australian band is back with a new album in June, and the first single “Alive” is another super-catchy synth pop jam that is just begging to be a summer anthem of 2013.

Some super funky electro pop from Oslo band Lemaitre, who’ve served up a video for “Fiction” that has a concept I’d easily watch a full length feature on.

Marina and the Diamonds | State of Dreaming

Marina has released part 9 of her Electra Heart video series, following the exploits of the alter ego she created specifically for her latest album of the same name. This one is a classy, old-school homage to yesteryear, and as usual Marina is looking flawless. 

The whole tale of Electra Heart can be heard on her latest album, which made it to the number 25 spot on my favorite 25 albums of 2012 list, so give it a listen if you’re a fan of good pop music. 

Lemaitre | Continuum

Norwegian electro group Lemaitre has put a clip out for their latest single “Continuum” of the freshly released EP Relativity 3. The video is standard concert, dancing fare, but the song certainly makes you wish you were there vs sitting at home. 

Bat For Lashes | Lillies

Natasha Khan is back, wearing barely nothing again, in the video for The Haunted Man opener “Lillies”, where she dances together with a group of creepy but seemingly friendly monsters and a host of other animated creatures. It looks like she had fun making this one, and it’s fun to watch, too.

Astronauts, etc. | Sideswiped

Anthony Ferraro is back with more supermelodic pop in the form of single “Sideswiped”. The clip isn’t quite as cool as some past efforts like “You Can Yell” (one of my favorites from last year), but his music is still doing most of the talking, continuing the beautiful conversation started with his Supermelodic Pulp EP, which you can grab here.

Cold Mailman | My Recurring Dream 

Directed by Andre Chocron, this video for Cold Mailman’s “My Recurring Dream” is very much like a strange, wonderful dream whose world I could easily wander through, happily lost, for a very long time.

Chad Valley (Featuring Twin Shadow) | I Owe You This

Chad Valley’s voice alone leaves an impact, but bring in Twin Shadow’s George Lewis Jr and his unmistakable croon and you’ve got the recipe for a great collaboration. 

“I Owe You This” is in fact a great collaborative cut from these two guys, and the retro-tinted sound is complimented by this clip, which founds a group of friends hanging out after-hours at an AMF bowling alley that looks like the ones you probably grew up hanging out in. Except my friends didn’t have super powers… lame.
